Shinzo Abe, former prime minister of Japan was killed in shootings in Nara, on Friday morning. Officials earlier said that Shinzo Abe showed no signs of life after being taken to the hospital. Unidentified assailants shot him twice while he was giving a speech in support of the campaign. Shinzo Abe was bleeding from the gunshot that had been fired at him and had fallen to his death.
In an “unconscious” condition, he was taken to the hospital. According to Reuters, a man believed to be the suspect has been taken into custody. According to Reuters, Shinzo Abe was shot while he was giving a speech at an event in Nara.

Shinzo Ab, Japan’s longest serving PM, was one one of the most consequential world leaders in the last 20 years. His strong foreign policy provided an effective counter to China, he supported Taiwan, and he sought to build broad coalitions to combat growing Chinese influence.

- According to Japanese media, ANI, Tetsuya Yamagami was the suspect in Friday’s shooting of Shinzo Abe, former prime minister. He is a Nara City resident, aged 41.
